Because of the broad scope of environmental initiatives, Houston Endowment’s
approach is to focus its resources on opportunities that have the potential for
regional impact. In addition to the restrictions described in the Application Guidelines, the
foundation generally does not support the following activities as part of its Environment program:
- Parks and open spaces not available to the general public
- Neighborhood and pocket parks
- Gardens
- Swimming/sports parks
