Capital Improvement
Capital Improvement grants are for the
acquisition, construction or improvement of a physical asset that will lead over
time to demonstrably better results for the people the organization serves.
Examples of Capital Improvement grants are support for land acquisition, new
construction, building renovations or new technology. The application should
address a specific capital project as opposed to a general capital campaign.
Please note: Houston Endowment does not recognize nor respond to formal fundraising
campaigns per se. It does make grants that recipient organizations sometimes
count among the contributions to their campaigns; however, Houston Endowment’s
focus is entirely on the particular purpose of each such grant, not on the
campaign in which it may be counted. The fact that an institution has an active
campaign is irrelevant to the foundation’s decision-making.
