Houston Endowment seeks to increase the number of workforce participants who have stable employment with a living wage or better, which allows them to improve their quality of life. The foundation invests in four focus areas, each characterized by a desired outcome.  Grantseekers should select one of the following areas as the primary focus of their application:

Literacy: Adults have the written and verbal language skills they need to successfully participate in employment, health care and financial transactions.

Financial Stability: Adults obtain and maintain a living-wage job and have adequate resources to manage unexpected health or financial downturns.

Continued Learning: Working adults continue to develop professionally and to secure better job opportunities over time.

Future Workforce: Youth ages 16 to 24 have the opportunity to prepare for future full-time employment and to manage money.
