Strong Communities
Houston Endowment supports efforts to strengthen communities so they provide the best possible environments for their residents. Low-income neighborhoods that
deepen their residents' involvement and improve their physical infrastructure, cultural resources and economic development are best positioned to provide safe and stable communities.
The foundation
invests in three focus areas, each characterized by a desired
outcome.
Grantseekers should select one of the following areas as the primary focus of
their application:
Communities: Low-income communities increase their economic wealth and stability.
Housing:
People, primarily vulnerable populations such as the elderly, disabled
or impoverished, live in affordable housing that is private, clean and supported
where needed.
Government Participation: Informed citizens engage in
the general well-being of the community as voters and direct participants.
