Joe Dilg Named Chair, Houston Endowment Board of Directors

Joe Dilg will begin a two-year term as chair of the Houston Endowment Board of Directors January 1, 2022. He has served as a director since 2017.

“For over 80 years, Houston Endowment has played a critical role in strengthening the vibrancy of our city and helping its residents to thrive,” said Dilg. “I am honored to assume this position, come together with Houston Endowment’s outstanding Board of Directors and amazing staff, and continue this work.”

Mr. Dilg practiced law with Vinson & Elkins for nearly 40 years and served as managing partner of the firm from 2002 to 2012. Upon retirement from Vinson & Elkins at the end of 2013, Mr. Dilg became vice chairman of Greenhill & Co., Inc., an international investment banking firm. He retired from Greenhill in 2018.

Mr. Dilg is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of St. John’s School in Houston and of the boards of directors of the Houston Zoo Development Corp. and the Houston Parks Board, and a member of the Executive Council of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Center for Energy, Law and Business at The University of Texas.

He previously served as a board member and chair of the National Business Committee for the Arts, as a board member of the Houston Arts Alliance and the Houston Zoo Inc., and as a trustee of the Texas Law School Foundation.

Mr. Dilg graduated from Southern Methodist University and received his law degree from The University of Texas School of Law, where he was an editor of the Texas Law Review.
