Cynthia Hurrington

Director, Communications

Cynthia develops communications that advance and support the foundation’s mission. She works closely across teams and with community partners to elevate stories that influence, inform, and inspire. Building trust is the foundation of Cynthia’s approach.

Her background reflects her passion for building. She has held leadership roles in communications for a variety of industries, from professional services to food and beverage. The common denominator is her work to build communications that help organizations meet evolving needs. She developed a social impact communications strategy for SCI, a Houston-based publicly traded company, that contributed to their industry-leading rank as a responsible corporate citizen.

Cynthia is a native Houstonian who delights in discovering the city’s ever-expanding treasures. When away from work, she can be found alongside her wife Ann spoiling their pup or chatting with friends over dinner.

Cynthia holds a Master of Public Administration in policy analysis and a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from the University of Houston.
