L. E. Simmons

L.E. is the founder and partner of SCF Partners, where he has guided the investment of over $2.5 billion in private equity capital used to build energy services, equipment, and technology companies.

L.E. began his focus on finance at the University of Utah, where he majored in Economics and also studied at the London School of Economics. He subsequently earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. L.E. helped launch the Corporate Finance Department at The First National Bank of Chicago before moving to Texas in 1974 to be co-founder of Simmons & Company International, an investment banking firm specializing in oilfield service companies.

L.E. currently serves on boards of (or is associated with) the Sam Houston Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Harvard Business School, Rice University, The London School of Economics, Texas Children’s Hospital, The George H.W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation, and the Energy Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
