Melanie Edwards Named Chair, Houston Endowment Board of Directors

Melanie Edwards began a two-year term as Chair of the Houston Endowment Board of Directors on January 1, 2024. She has served as a Director since July 2019.

“As a proud Houstonian, I’m honored to serve in this role for Houston Endowment, which is well into its eighth decade of creating opportunity for everyone who lives here,” said Edwards. “I look forward to continuing my work with the Board of Directors and the staff to further Houston Endowment’s impact in the region.”

Edwards is a retired senior executive who has worked extensively in the energy industry, most recently as executive vice president of Rowan Companies plc (now part of Valaris plc). She currently serves on the boards of directors of Diamondback Energy, Inc., Arcosa, Inc. and Hyliion.   Trent serves on the board of YES Prep Public Schools (and previously served as Chair), and co-chairs the Houston Chapter of Women Corporate Directors.

She received a bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College and a juris doctorate from Georgetown University.
