Jennifer Jouas

Director, Finance and Accounting

In addition to overseeing the accounting and financial reporting team, Jennifer partners with grants management to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. She also serves as the primary liaison for audit, tax compliance, and banking relationships. Her work to digitize and streamline accounting processes improved efficiency, making it easier for teams to stay focused on Houston Endowment’s mission. She is energized by being part of a motivated culture striving for continuous improvement.

This self-described Excel nerd gets more excitement than most from number crunching and data analysis. Prior to joining Houston Endowment in 2015, she worked as a financial analyst and accounting supervisor at Occidental Petroleum. She began her career in public accounting with three years as an auditor in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Private Company Services group.

Her two young daughters, Audrey and Leah, keep her busy. Her family’s favorite pastimes are exploring new parks and walking trails. Travel, reading, and trying new recipes are also favorites. Every now and then, you can find her towards the bottom of the Peloton leaderboard.

Jennifer holds a Master in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas and bachelor’s degrees in economics and Spanish from Vanderbilt University.
