Rid works with the Civic Engagement team to support the Foundation’s strategies.

Rid has worked with national non-profits and political organizations across the south. Prior to joining the Houston Endowment, Rid worked with Compassion and Choices to advocate for end-of-life care and end-of-life options. While doing this work, Rid served as a staff liaison to their Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Leadership Council, and was tasked with addressing language access needs as it relates to end-of-life care for the AANHPI community. He also worked on policy and legislation advocacy on the state level. Rid brings vast knowledge on elections and grassroots organizing having worked for President Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Senator Raphael Warnock, and Senator Jon Ossoff’s campaigns. Rid has always been committed to civic engagement. While in undergrad, he worked with NextGen America to engage students at his college to increase voter turnout on campus. He has managed campaigns on the presidential, gubernatorial, senatorial, and congressional level.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in international studies from the University of South Florida.
