Sara Jones

Sara works collaboratively with colleagues and partners to design and implement effective evaluations that will inform strategy and improve the impact of grantees’ and Houston Endowment’s work.

Sara has spent most of her career in education in the Houston area. She worked as a Teach for America teacher in Houston before earning her doctorate and serving as faculty in the College of Education at the University of Houston and most recently worked as the Executive Director of Assessment, Accountability and Analytics. In all these roles she worked to evaluate educational programs as well as build the evaluation capacity and systems of the organization to facilitate the practice of continuous learning. Sara is excited to continue her work in education while also expanding her evaluation skills to across Houston Endowment’s portfolios.

Sara has a master’s and doctorate in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her Bachelors of Arts at the University of Mississippi.
