HOUSTON—September 10, 2021 – Houston Endowment, a private philanthropic institution dedicated to a thriving Greater Houston, today announced up to $1 million in in-kind support for Houston Independent School District’s (HISD) strategic planning efforts. The investment will support the development of a district-wide strategic plan to maximize student outcomes.
The strategic planning process will include the creation of a student-centered vision, district benchmarking, and a plan to optimize Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds. “This support will help ensure we build a plan that will move the needle for our students and help us become the greatest school district in this country,” said HISD Superintendent Millard House II. “I want to acknowledge and thank Houston Endowment for their support and for being a critical partner for the district.”
Improving educational outcomes for students in Greater Houston is a deep commitment for Houston Endowment. “Every child should have access to a great education that gives them choices about their future,” said Ann B. Stern, president and CEO of Houston Endowment. “We are proud to work alongside HISD to improve educational outcomes for Houston students.”
